Our Story

We are Ellan & Ella, ChattyCupcakes & Cakes. We started our residential bakery in 2014 with an idea that everything had to be beautiful and delicious.

My work took me through Europe and at the end of workdays I would visit a local bakery for fun. Their baking style was uniquely delicious-not too sweet, but so delicious! Coming home from a trip, my daughter, Ella (who was a college student at the time), went for a walk and the bakery concept was born. We both loved quotes, so we put quotes on our cupcake 'cups.'

2014: Opened Residential Bakery "ChattyCupcakes"- busy busy busy

2015: ChatterBox Cupcake Truck: Learned to make 100's of cupcakes

2016: Took Classes @ London Bakery, Konditor & Cook, revisited bakeries

2017: Had Our Custom Made Italian Vending Machine delivered, 1st in US!

2019: Ella on Food Channel Network, "Cupcake Championship". SHE WON!

2021: Self-Published our first Recipe Book, "Michelangelo of Cakes"

2024: We started classes teaching others how to make great cakes!

2025: Started "Michelangelo of Cakes YouTUBE - free tutorials

2026: Self-Published Volume II Recipe Books - Cakes & Cupcakes

2026: Started "Master Classes" - One-on-one classes for baking & design

2026: Expanded Artistry to "Buttercream in Stone"

Ella has made thousands of custom cakes and cupcakes -- all labor intensive and a labor of love. She has expanded her love of artistry into a new area - "Buttercream in Stone" - Permanent Art Creations made with the same labor of love as her cakes, but they will be everlasting pieces. We include them here because whet started as 12 years of intricate cake designs has evolved into these uniquely beautiful pieces of art. We invite you to check it out here.
